In some cases, excess beets are available to livestock producers when processing plants are unable to utilize them for sugar production.  This livestock producer devised a way to chop sugar beets through a forage harvester in order to feed them to beef cattle.  Whole beets are processed in this manner to reduce the risk of cattle choking.
