Description: The cows here are wintered on a corn field in Southwestern Wisconsin. Cows grazed the cornstalks in the fall and then bunks are used to feed the cows a ration during the winter. The cows in this picture have access to a wooded area to use as windbreak during the winter. Beef cattle do not require shelter in the winter, if a windbreak or wind protection is provided.
