Riboflavin Deficient chick.  Norris et al. (1929) First reported a leg paralysis (curled-toe paralysis) which they considered to be due to a lack of a hitherto unidentified vitamin.  Paralysis is caused by peripheral nerve degeneration due to degeneration of the myelin sheaths of the nerves.
